The Bluegrass Railroad Museum in Versailles Santa Trains 2026
When snowflakes start to fly in Kentucky, Santa and Mrs. Claus bring Holiday Cheer to the Bluegrass Railroad Museum.
Santa Train Rides
Saturdays, November 28th, December 5th & 12th, 2026 Rides at 11 am & 2 pm
Sundays, December 6th & 13th, 2026 Rides at 2 pm
Once the train pulls out of the station for a 90-minute train ride, Santa visits with every child. Our Conductors and Car Hosts will help you pass the time while waiting for your turn with the jolly old elf.
Enjoy singing carols, watching the winter countryside or just relaxing with your family. At the end of the ride, there are candy canes for everyone before Santa gives his final farewell. Then he heads back to the North Pole to await his Big Night.

The Kentucky Railway Museum Holiday Trains
North Pole Express
December 5-6, 12 – 13, 19 – 20, 2026
Rides at 5:30 pm
Join us for a nostalgic Christmas adventure aboard a historic train ride to pick up Santa! On our journey to the North Pole, enjoy a train excursion while listening to the sounds of the season. Upon arrival at the North Pole, Santa boards the train and travels with us on our way back to New Haven. Families are encouraged to wear their pajamas for the ultimate experience. Upon arriving back at the station, you have the opportunity to visit with Santa and take your child’s photo with him in the depot!
The entire family can enjoy a cookie and hot chocolate when they visit Claus’s Kitchen Caboose before the train excursion. (No food or drink other than bottled water is able to be taken on the train.) We do recommend that you arrive an hour prior to the train departure time to enjoy your cookie and hot chocolate and the small activities we have available for the kids!

All aboard the Santa Express! Bring the children on a nostalgic journey to meet Santa while listening to the sounds of the season. Visit with the man in the red suit while traveling through the Rolling Fork River Valley and enjoying a historic train excursion. For even more fun, the whole family is welcome to wear their pajamas!

Brunch with Santa

This event begins at 9:45 a.m. with a 30-minute train ride departing from our depot in New Haven. When you arrive at Gethsemane, you will be shuttled to The Legacy at Log Still where you will enjoy activities, meet and greet with Santa and brunch from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. The return train departs at noon to arrive back in New Haven at 12:30 p.m.
*Unfortunately, this event is not wheelchair accessible. If needing wheelchair accessibility, please choose the Santa Express or North Pole Express event.
Menu includes:

My Old Kentucky Dinner Train

Take a step back to a simpler time of joy and grandeur; a time where holiday magic fills the air. The North Pole Express at My Old KY Dinner Train is the only place where you can experience a fully renovated and functioning holiday dinner train experience like the days of old. Come early to enjoy our classic 1860s depot building decorated to the nines for your visit with Santa Claus before you board the train. We recommend arriving an hour early to enjoy your personal visit with the big man as well as our exquisite tree display including our famous 12-foot tree in either your matching pajamas or Sunday best. Your whole family will enjoy the scavenger hunt and other family activities available in the depot before boarding.
Once onboard, each 1940s style dining car is dressed with linens for you and your families’ three-course meal prepared by our seasoned culinary team. Your little ones will be greeted with their own custom coloring book at their place setting designed by a local artist. Relax while our 5-star serving staff takes care of all your needs. Throughout the beautiful 105 minute ride through the Kentucky countryside, Santa will visit each train car and table to chat, sing carols and take pictures. End this magical ride with a warm cup of our chef’s homemade hot chocolate and a giant chocolate chip cookie to fill your tummy.
Back in the depot, Santa has another surprise up his sleeve. Visit the man in the big red coat for, of course, a magical bell from his sleigh. Be ready for a special punch in your North Pole Express train ticket and a candy cane before going home.
