Tuesday, April 2, 2024 10 am – 11 am – Radical Reptiles at McConnell Springs
Explore McConnell Springs to look for and learn more about the reptiles and amphibians that live at the park. Activities include a craft and live reptiles! This program is suited for children between the ages of 5 – 10 years old. Adults bringing children are asked to stay at the park for the duration of the activity, this is not a drop-off program. Registration is required.
Wednesday, April 3, 2024 2 pm – 3 pm, 3:30 – 4:30 pm – Introduction to Archery at Hisle Farm Park
Youth participants are invited to join Outdoor Programs staff at one of two sessions to explore the sport of archery. Instruction on safety protocols and shooting stance will be covered during this session. Participants will have the opportunity to try out their new skills by shooting a bow and arrow. Registration is required and participants must be 7-12 years old. Please dress for the weather for this outdoor program and bring water and snacks for your comfort, no water is available on site. Thursday, April 4, 2024 10 am – 11 am – Nature Detectives at McConnell Springs
Learn about the tracks that animals leave behind and how to find where they have been in the wild. This program is geared towards children aged 5 – 10 years old and will include a craft and outdoor activity. Adults bringing children are asked to stay at the park for the duration of the activity, this is not a drop-off program. Registration is required.
Equestrian Mini-Camp with Lexington Parks and Recreation
Lexington Park & Recreation offers one day equestrian mini-camps during Spring Break. Participants will learn all about horses, including how to groom them, how to saddle them, and how to safely lead a horse. Includes a brief riding lesson.
Registration for spring break mini-camps will open Tuesday, March 19 at 10 a.m.
Cost: $30 per person. Financial assistance is available for qualifying households.

Lexington Humane Society Little Paws Day Camp
Little Paws Day Camp is a hands-on camp held at local library branches designed for children who have a strong interest in all things animal! Sign up your camper for one of three fun-filled sessions where they can learn about animal welfare, express their creativity, and interact with special animal guests!

Wildwood Music Therapy Spring Break Camp
April 3, 2024

Participants in this camp will engage in a variety of musical experiences on the theme of “What a Wonderful World.” Experiences will include things like playing ukulele, playing pitched and unpitched percussion, songwriting, movement to music, music for relaxation, and visual art. Instruction will include strengths-based exploratory, multisensory, and creative learning strategies. Camp will take place inside the Wildwood offices and is limited to 6 participants.
Note: it’s important to us to be sensory friendly, inclusive, and neurodivergent-affirming. Adjustments can be made to lighting, sound levels, processing time allowed, opportunities for breaks, etc. If needed, parents are welcome to remain in the room.
