Russian Fairy Tales and More!
Thursday, April 4th 6-8pm
Suggested donation of $2 for adults and kids 12 and up, $1 for children 11 and under
You may be familiar with Snow White and Cinderella, but have you ever met the mysterious and enchanting firebirds, swan maidens, and evil sorcerers of Russian Fairy Tales?!
Join us for an enchanting evening of Russian culture, art, and storytelling at this month’s Discovery Night program! In Russian, tales are called SKAZKA. The word is from the same root as the verb “to say” – skazat. Be entertained by our special guest storyteller and UK Professor of Russian, Linguistics, and Folklore, Jeanmarie Rouhier. Also, learn about the beautiful art of painting Matroshka dolls and make your own to take home!
