Ashland will host an open house to debut a new tour that looks at the history of African Americans, enslaved and later employed, at Ashland from 1808-1948. This tour will cover many aspects of the lives of enslaved people at Ashland and including some material never covered in other tours. It will also explore the people employed by the McDowells and Bullocks between 1882 and 1948 much more deeply than ever before. This tour will include new images and archival material never previously discussed or shown. The house will be opened with station guides. Visitors will need to sign up for entry times available every 15 minutes until 3:00.
