What is Block Kids? Block kids introduces children to the Construction Industry in hopes of creating an awareness of and promoting an interest in careers in the many facets of the construction industry.

Join The Fun!!! Each child will receive interlocking blocks, 1 small rock, 12” of string and an 18” piece of aluminum foil to build their project. Children are encouraged to use their imaginations to build a project related to the construction industry, i.e. houses, buildings, roads, bridges, airports, or construction equipment such as cranes.

Meet People From The Construction Industry People working in various facets of the Construction Industry (ENGINEERS, ARCHITECTS, EQUIPMENT OPERATORS, PROJECT MANAGERS, ETC) will serve as judges.

They will visit with each child individually, asking questions relating to the project and scoring each project. There will be three categories for scoring, Grades K-1, Grades 2-3, Grades 4-5.

An overall winner will be selected and will advance to a regional competition. We feel each child will be a winner for participating and each child will receive a goodie bag.

A snack will be provided. No parents are allowed in the construction room during building and judging.
