This city wide youth community theatre project provides advanced training and performance for the experienced young artist and an accessible and enriching program for the emerging artist. ACTivate is seeking participants ages 9-18 with a passion for musical theatre, community and creative thinking.

ACTivate-facebook-post-5.19-LetterTraining: Young artists ages 9-18 will audition on May 1 and 2 to be part of the main cast of the production. Then participants will enjoy training during the month of June which culminates in performances for the community June 24 – 26th! In the first two weeks participants will experience one week of theatre and vocal training and one week of dance training at The Pam Miller Downtown Arts Center with the ACTivate professional staff including: Vanessa Becker Weig, Emma Becker, Kate Hadfield Antonetti, and Ron Wilbur. The training will serve the needs of the production while learning new skills. There is an alternate program for ages 9-13 to have a one week experience at the Kenwick Community Center.

We will turn an array of classic characters on their head and modernize them to explore relevant social challenges in our Community through innovative storytelling and our upcycled set design!
Community: ACTivate is partnering with Live Green Lexington as they facilitate drives to collect materials for our set, as well as educating participants on the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling. In addition, they will be providing recycling information and collection stations during the performances!
