Healthy Lexington: Something for Every Body Exercise Event
June 13 from 9 am – 2 pm at the UK Club at Spindletop
Gyms and fitness studios from around the area are donating their time to teach variety of fitness classes to encourage people to discover the exercise they enjoy. The idea is that there will be different choices and the event encourages people to try things they have never done before.
$5 per class
Family friendly events include stations from Legacy All Sports, the YMCA and Fit4Moms stroller running.
Any money raised during the event by participants and sponsors will benefit the UK Markey Cancer Foundation.
Need something a little lighter on the joints? Water aerobics is for you. Come experience a class that will not only benefit you in terms of health and fitness, but will not cause you to hurt so badly you can’t walk.

Stroller strides is a full-body workout designed for moms with little ones. It incorporates power walking, strength, toning, songs, and activities. Kids are no longer an excuse because you can bring them along.

Zumba is a dance fitness program that incorporates hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue and mambo to create a total body workout that is not only effective but fun at the same time.

Does the idea of an organized exercise class make you not interested? Or, do you prefer to relay on your Saturday afternoons with a cold beer and pizza? No problem…but you’re going to have to work for it! Starting at 12:00 pm, and running through 2:00 pm, there will be “Beer and Pizza” runs. For a $6 donation, run or walk a quarter of a mile and pick up your beer and slice of pizza featuring West Sixth and Costco. You must be 21 or older in order to receive alcoholic beverages, all others can will receive Root Beer.
