Family University, an initiative launched in fall 2016, provides learning opportunities to engage and empower parents, promote families as schools’ allies in fostering students’ success, and enhance community partnerships to best serve students’ families.
The Family University’s steering committee includes representatives from FCPS, the Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning, the 16th District PTA and its Urban Family Engagement Network (UFEN), the Urban League of Lexington-Fayette County, and the YMCA of Central Kentucky.
