New this year: a special HO layout by Lawrence Goodridge Design showcasing France in Mid-August 1944. The diorama depicts General George Patton’s Third Army racing across the French countryside at a rare moment when supplies caught up with the American forces at a small railhead. This traveling display is dedicated to veterans.
The historic L&N Depot, home to Berea Welcome Center since 1987, saw its last passenger train in 1968 and last freight train in 1971. The depot was originally part of the Kentucky Central Railroad and was purchased by Louisville & Nashville (L&N) in 1891, one year after Berea became a city. The property was placed on the National Registry of Historical Places in 1975. The railroad is now operated by CSX.
Located in the heart of the Old Town Artisan Village, 3 Artist Circle, Berea, KY. The 21st Annual L&N Day is FREE and open to the public from 9am – 5pm.
