DESCRIPTION:Free activities for “kids” of all ages during the 21st Annu
 al L&amp\;N Day in Berea\, KY. On Saturday\, August 7 from 9am-5pm\, watch
  working model trains\, shop for the perfect railroad treasure and join in
  on storytelling of days gone by. Stand within a few feet of the track as 
 freight trains cruise past the station\, and pick up a special commemorati
 ve ticket. Take a family “selfie” in front of the train silhouette. Sp
 ecial conductor hats and activities for children while supplies last.\nCal
 ling all history buffs and train enthusiasts: L&amp\;N Day returns on Satu
 rday\, August 7 in Berea\, KY. Join current and retired railroad employees
 \, train buffs\, and “kids” of all ages in celebrating the last brick 
 L&amp\;N Railroad Depot still standing between Cincinnati and Knoxville.\n
 \nThere will be memorabilia for show and sale\, exhibitors from three stat
 es\, working model trains\, games and activities for children\, family pho
 to opportunities\, and much\, much more! Visitors can collect a commemorat
 ive ticket and watch freight trains cruise by just a few feet from the pla
 tform.\n\nNew this year: a special HO layout by Lawrence Goodridge Design 
 showcasing France in Mid-August 1944. The diorama depicts General George P
 atton’s Third Army racing across the French countryside at a rare moment
  when supplies caught up with the American forces at a small railhead. Thi
 s traveling display is dedicated to veterans.\n\nThe historic L&amp\;N Dep
 ot\, home to Berea Welcome Center since 1987\, saw its last passenger trai
 n in 1968 and last freight train in 1971. The depot was originally part of
  the Kentucky Central Railroad and was purchased by Louisville &amp\; Nash
 ville (L&amp\;N) in 1891\, one year after Berea became a city. The propert
 y was placed on the National Registry of Historical Places in 1975. The ra
 ilroad is now operated by CSX.\n\nLocated in the heart of the Old Town Art
