Downtown Lexington Freedom March and Commemorative Program
Monday, January 15, 2024, 1 p.m. – Freedom March (Note: Line-up begins as early as noon in Central Bank Center lobby – High Street entrance). Free parking in the High Street lot.
Monday, January 15, 2024, 2 p.m. – Commemorative Program with musical guests, Uniting Voices Chicago and Uniting Voices Lexington. Keynote speaker, Reverend Dr. Kevin W. Cosby, Simmons College of Kentucky.
Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning Community Celebration
After the Unity Breakfast and before the downtown MLK march, head to the Carnegie Center on Monday, January 15 at 10:30 AM to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with an inspirational keynote address by Historian and Professor of Sociology at Berea College, Jackie Burnside. Enjoy a hot meal, and a series of FREE interactive family activities and a service learning project led by community leaders and artists.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration (Georgetown)
Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Breakfast – Saturday, Jan. 13 at 9 a.m. at the Scott County Extension Office.
The breakfast will be a celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and will have musical selections and a discussion about mental health in the Black family from guest speaker Dr. Shericka D. Smith.
