EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
2:00–6:00 PM – Scavenger Hunt & Hands-On Craft
Discover and explore the creek ecosystem of Town Branch! Visitors are invited to observe the creek and its surroundings—including native plants and bioswales—and document what they see by coloring, drawing, and collaging paper plants onto a hand-drawn Gatton Park diagram. Participants will leave with a beautiful keepsake and a deeper appreciation for the importance of native plant life.
3:00–5:00 PM – Live Music: Fighting Futures
Fighting Futures is a Lexington-based indie/alternative rock band that plays original music with a purpose—to unite and empower all who hear it. Since 2013, Zoe and Niamh have led the band, weaving strong lyrics into catchy melodies with a punch, always striving for a better future for all.
3:00–6:00 PM – Gatton Bark
Stop by the dog park to visit Hound & Horse! Enjoy locally made dog cookies in flavors like peanut butter, oat, and honey, decorated with a yogurt-style icing—perfect for celebrating football season and fall favorites like pumpkins.
5:00–6:00 PM – Guided Tour: Landscape Design & Sustainability
Explore Gatton Park with John Carman, Principal at Carman Landscape Architecture, and discover its 500+ trees, 30,000 plants, and innovative sustainable design features.
