Don’t miss the Back to School Festival Back to School Festival on August 9 from 4-7pm in Gardenside Plaza, 1729 Alexandria Drive.

There will be lots of children’s activities, including On the Move Art Studio, Lexington Park and Play, the Copsicle Van, watercolor activities by JeanEllen, make your own buttons by Pinnies, and more. Casa de la Cultura dancers will perform, James Lane Allen Elementary will give away free books and local organizations will offer free school supplies.

Families will have fun, take home books and school supplies, shop for gifts among the crafters, and shop for delicious fresh corn, watermelons, cheese, coffee and more at the Community Market. SNAP participants can Double their Dollars to stretch their budget, and kids under age 14 can get $5 to spend at the market however they would like to.

The Greater Gardenside Community Market is every Wednesday through September 13, from 4-7pm in the Gardenside Plaza.
