Come learn about our local Kentucky bats and try out our acoustic bat detectors! May is a busy time for bats. Having emerged from hibernation in March/April, they are now fully active and feeding. Many will be migrating to their summer roosting locations and females will be forming maternity colonies to raise their young. Join us as we take a walk through our trail system to look for and learn about these amazing creatures during this important staging time. This program is recommended for adults and children ages 8+. Registration is required. Please register all participants attending. Hike will be about 1.5-2 miles over moderately difficult terrain with some elevation changes and uneven terrain.
