Inclusive, creative, evidence-based music therapy camps!
Wildwood Music Therapy is offering a variety of musical summer camps for ages 5 to 18 designed with disability and neurodivergence inclusivity in mind. Our Rock Band and Ukulele camps focus on musical skill building and playing in an ensemble, while our Social Music Therapy groups will use music experiences to work on non-musical social-emotional skills.
Music therapy is the evidence-based practice of using individualized music experiences to address specific client goals, within a therapeutic relationship with a board-certified music therapist (MT-BC). Whether you are enrolling in a music therapy camp, or a music learning camp, our instructors/music therapists keep the whole person in mind. We strive to create a positive and supportive emotional and sensory environment for all, utilizing strengths-based exploratory, multisensory, and creative learning strategies. All instruments needed for camp will be provided and no experience is necessary.
Kids Ukulele Camp
This camp will mostly utilize basic ukulele chords (especially C, F, G, and Am) and strum patterns and is designed for beginner through intermediate ukulele players. Participants will have the opportunity to practice music concepts and learn popular and familiar songs on the ukulele. Instruments needed for camp will be provided. Instruction will include strengths-based exploratory, multisensory, and creative learning strategies. Other camp activities will include creative arts-based activities and opportunities for socialization and connection building with group members. No experience is required and instruments needed for camp will be provided”.

Instruction will include strengths-based exploratory, multisensory, and creative learning strategies. Other camp activities will include creative arts-based activities, and opportunities for socialization and connection building with band members.
No experience is required and instruments needed for camp will be provided.

I’m with the Band: Social Music Therapy
The focus of this camp will be collaborative music making and being part of a welcoming and supportive social environment through music therapy interventions and music education techniques. Participants in this camp will have the opportunity to try out the instruments in a modern rock band, the ukulele, and a variety of pitched and unpitched percussion instruments. No experience is required. Instruction will include strengths-based exploratory, multisensory, and creative learning strategies. All instruments needed for camp will be provided. Camp will take place inside the Wildwood offices. Class will be limited to 6 participants.

Get Ready for School! Social Emotional Music Therapy for Kids (6 – 12)
Any kids 6 – 12 are welcome for our social-emotional music therapy group for elementary age kids. We’ll be focusing on social and emotional skills like: self-awareness and social awareness, self-management and coping, relationship skills, attention and listening skills, taking turns, personal space, teamwork and leadership, etc. Music interventions may include things like: collaborative instrument play, active music listening, singing, moving to music, expressive music making, playing musical games, music creation and songwriting, music relaxation, and more!
