Join us for a family-friendly day of outdoor programs and activities focused on our bluegrass birds. Recommended for ages 8 and up. We’ll start the day with morning bird walks. For the afternoon, participants can choose between a few programs exploring butterflies and bugs, drawing, and native plant relationships.
Morning Bird Walk Leaders:

Afternoon sessions:
– Butterfly and Bug Walk with Beverly James & Karen Michul (NABA-Central Kentucky)
– How to Draw a Bird with Steve Bennett and Laura Mentor
– Native Plant Relationships: From Birds to Butterflies with Isabel Cochran
Bring: lunch, snacks, water, insect repellent, sun protection
Optional: binoculars, hiking poles, camera
Schedule:
- 8:30 – 9:00 gate opens; check-in
- 9:00 – 11:00 AM: Morning bird walks
- 11:00-12:00 lunch break (lunch not provided); activities at the Trail’s End Lodge
- 12:00 – 2:00 PM: Afternoon sessions
