If you have been dreaming about tasty treats such as tomato bruschetta, sun-dried tomatoes, fresh tomato juice, grilled tomatoes, fresh salsa, and other tomato delights, your taste buds are telling you it’s soon time for homegrown, ripe tomatoes!
Nothing says summer like fresh, ripe tomatoes. On August 10 you’ll get to taste your fill at the 8th Annual Tomato Festival at The Arboretum. Come prepared to sample an amazing variety of locally grown tomatoes. Enjoy free tomato-based hors d’oeuvres created and prepared by local chefs.
Whether you are a tomato lover or not, there will be plenty of activities for the whole family. Kids will enjoy games and face painting, and they can create their own Mr. or Ms. Tomato Head. Adults can attend informational presentations and demonstrations by experts and take a tour the Gardens. Don’t miss this ever-popular event.
Anyone interested in volunteering to help with the Tomato Festival, please contact The Arboretum at 859-257-6955. We need lots of tomato-cutting!
