The Annual Alltech Lexington St. Patrick’s Parade and Irish Festival is scheduled for Saturday, March 16, 2024.  

 


 

The Festival

The events are part of an all-day celebration that traditionally begins at 10:45 a.m., with the annual “Blessing of the Keg” at Henry A. Tandy Centennial Park. The parade begins at 1 p.m. and goes down Main Street from Midland Avenue to Mill Street .

The Shamrock Shuffle

Kick off the running season at the 18th Annual Shamrock Shuffle 3K, presented by Stantec! Take part in this St. Patrick’s Day tradition by joining the in-person race DOWNTOWN on March 16, 2024. Like always, we shuffle for shelter! Net proceeds benefit Lexington Habitat for Humanity.

The Parade

The St. Patrick’s parade is the longest-running citywide civic event in Lexington. We look forward to continuing the tradition and welcoming people to downtown Lexington this year.  The parade kicks off at 1 pm.

The Lexington Division of Parks and Recreation produces the annual parade and festival with community support from local businesses and cultural organizations.

  • William Sutherland Reid Pipes & Drums: Feel the ground tremble and your heart beat with the stirring sounds of the bagpipes and drums. William Sutherland Reid Pipes & Drums will deliver a powerful performance that will leave you breathless.
  • McTeggart Irish Dancers: Witness the tradition and skills of the McTeggart Irish Dancers as they showcase the beauty and athleticism of Irish dance. Their energetic performances are a St. Patrick’s season tradition.
  • Kentucky United Pipes & Drums: Experience the rich history and heritage of piping with the Kentucky United Pipes & Drums.
  • Celtic Blue: Get ready to sing along and dance the day away with Celtic Blue. This band brings the energy of Irish pub music to the stage, with a repertoire of classic and contemporary tunes.
  • Draper Family Band: Immerse yourself in the heartwarming sounds of the Draper Family Band. Their blend of traditional Irish music and bluegrass influences will create a unique and memorable experience.
