The Lexington Chamber Chorale proudly announces the next concert of its 2018-2019 season of concerts, Songs of Celebration and Joy, taking place at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Second Presbyterian Church. Songs of Celebration and Joy is the Chorale’s annual celebration of holiday song, featuring dialogue from Medieval England, fresh arrangements of international carols, and recently composed works, all presented in a family-friendly format to open the holiday season.

“It is a great honor for the Chorale to kick off the holiday season each year with our program of carols and holiday song,” said founding conductor and musical director, Dr. Gary L. Anderson. “We begin in procession to the hall, singing traditional thirteenth and fourteenth-century music. From there, we welcome our guests to sing familiar carols with us like “What Child is This?” and “Deck the Halls.” The concert program continues, featuring unique holiday music by the Chorale and our special guest cellist, Lexington Philharmonic’s Clyde Beavers.”

In addition to beloved holiday carols, repertoire for Songs of Celebration and Joy includes John Rutter’s “Candlelight Carol,” the spiritual “Children, Go Where I Send Thee,” and “The Twelve Days of Christmas.” Audiences will recognize French carol, “Ding Dong! Merrily on High,” and hear newer music such as Ola Gjeilo’s “Wintertide.” Songs of Celebration and Joy offers a wide range of holiday music for the whole family and is followed by the Chorale’s traditional holiday reception.

Songs of Celebration and Joy is the second concert in the Lexington Chamber Chorale’s twenty-eighth season of concerts. Single tickets to Songs of Celebration and Joy are $10 for students, $15 for individuals in groups of 10 or more, and $22 for adults & seniors. Tickets are available by visiting, by calling 859-317-3353, or at the door prior to the concert.
