SUMMARY:Reforest the Bluegrass
DESCRIPTION:Reforest the Bluegrass is a community tree planting festival (s
 ome say the biggest in the country!) We plant trees near streams and water
  bodies to improve "riparian buffers" which benefits our water quality. Th
 ese efforts also improve our tree canopy\, air quality\, quality of life\,
  and more!\n\nVolunteers of all ages are invited to the annual Reforest th
 e Bluegrass tree planting event. Volunteers should dress for the weather\,
  including shoes or boots that can get muddy and wet.\n\nReforest the Blue
 grass is a great opportunity for families\, religious groups\, scout troop
 s\, and social organizations to participate in a public service event. Par
 ticipants will be trained how to properly plant seedlings.\n\nPlanting tre
 es in the community decreases the amount of storm water runoff\, which red
 uces soil erosion and pollution in our waterways and may lessen the effect
 s of flooding. Trees also provide habitats for the many birds in our beaut
 iful state\, with over 300 birds thriving in our humid subtropical climate
 .
