DESCRIPTION:Here comes New Year’s Eve\, Lexington style! Lexington is cel
 ebrating its 250th anniversary in 2025\, and the year-long party official
 ly starts on New Year’s Eve\, inside at Central Bank Center.\nNew Year
 ’s Eve at Central Bank Center\, presented by Maker’s Mark\, will feat
 ure a celebration for people of all ages with food trucks\, beverages\, mu
 sic\, and more. The event is free and open to the public.\n“Come on down
 town\, and join the party. We’ve got something for everyone!” Mayor Li
 nda Gorton said.\nThe fun begins at 5 p.m. with a first-of-its-kind celebr
 ation for children and families. Activities include inflatables\, basketba
 ll\, programming from the Lexington Children’s Museum\, and a performanc
 e from M’Power Rhythm\, Lexington’s youth-centered African drumming en
 semble.  At 7 p.m.\, a special youth-centered countdown to the new year w
 ill be led by Mayor Gorton. The countdown in London will be live-streamed.
  “We want children to experience the excitement of a big countdown\,” 
 Gorton said. “The New Year’s Eve celebration in London happens on thei
 r timetable.”\nThe children’s event will continue to 8 p.m. in the mai
 n exhibition halls on the second floor of Central Bank Center.\nBeginning 
 at 9 p.m.\, it’s time for an older crowd to join the fun. Live music by 
 “Tee Dee Young” and “Honeychild” will be at the center of the cele
 bration. Food\, drinks\, and a special countdown to midnight led by Mayor 
 Gorton will make for a festive experience for all.\nThere will be a Maker
 ’s Mark area\, where the official 250Lex cocktail will be served.\nEunic
 e Beatty and Kip Cornett\, 250Lex Commission Co-Chairs said\, “The New Y
 ear’s Eve party kicks off a year of celebrating all things Lexington.”
 \nParking will be available on High Street. The High Street parking lot wi
 ll open at 5 p.m. with an hourly rate for the evening. Ride share is encou
 raged. Ride-share drop-offs and pick-ups will be located on Vine Street.\n
 Food and beverages are available for purchase. A clear bag policy will be 
 enforced.\n
