DESCRIPTION:The Arboretum will be celebrating Arbor Day during Tree Week! F
 ree admission to the Kentucky Children's Garden.  Please note the ceremon
 y scheduled for 10 am at the entrance of the children's garden.  The chil
 dren's garden may not be open until after the ceremony closer to 10:30 am.
 \n\nEvents at the Arboretum as well!  Schedule below!\n8 am - Guided Bird
  Walk | Pre-registration required. To register\, send an email to Arbo
 retum@uky.edu with your name\, number of people attending\, your phone nu
 mber and your email address. Space is limited. If you are unable to attend
 \, kindly inform Visitor Center staff so others may attend.\n\nPlant and S
 eed Exchange | Bring a plant\, seeds\, garden tools or other garden-rela
 ted items\, and exchange it for something to take home. No charge or pre-r
 egistration required.\n8:30 am - Bring your items and meet in the grass/
 overflow lot next to the paved parking lot.\n9 am - Exchange starts\n\n1
 0 am - Opening Ceremony | Mayor's Proclamation of Arbor Day - Recognition 
 of Tree City\, Tree Campus\, and Tree Healthcare Campus. Meet near the ent
 rance to the Kentucky Children's Garden.\n\n11 am - Arbor Day Tree Plantin
 g in the Kentucky Children's Garden | Help us dig the hole for the tree\,
  plant\, water\, and mulch the tree\, and spread mulch around it.\n\n2 pm 
 - Callery Pear Workshop &amp\; Native Tree Walk | Learn how to identify C
 allery Pear trees in the fall\, learn why this species causes problems in 
 Kentucky landscapes\, and take a walk to see some great native tree altern
 atives for your home landscape.
