DESCRIPTION:Join us to celebrate St. Patrick's Day and all things Ireland a
 t the annual Alltech Lexington St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival! As
  Lexington's longest-running civic event\, this annual celebration has bec
 ome a beloved tradition for many in central Kentucky. The festival — whi
 ch will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.\, featuring live music\, Irish danc
 e performances\, food vendors\, artisans and more — will kick off with t
 he traditional “Blessing of the Keg” at 10:45 a.m. at Henry A. Tandy C
 entennial Plaza (formerly known as Fifth Third Pavilion). The parade will 
 take over Main Street starting at 1 p.m. and will conclude with a performa
 nce at Tandy Plaza by Carbon Leaf\, an award-winning indie rock band known
  for its lively performances. We hope you'll join for this joyful and exub
 erant celebration of Celtic culture!\nDue to severe weather potential and 
 a high wind advisory\, the Lexington St. Patrick’s Parade scheduled for 
 Saturday has been canceled organizers announced Thursday. Festival perform
 ances will be moved indoors to the Lyric Theatre beginning at 10:30 a.m.\n
 "While this was not the decision we wanted to make\, the safety of our par
 ticipants\, attendees\, event staff and volunteers is our paramount concer
 n\," said Megan Moloney\, parade chair. "The potential for severe weather 
 would create difficult conditions for spectators\, as well as parade march
 ers\, floats and our stage performers. However\, we’re glad to be able t
 o offer a ‘mini-festival’ at the Lyric Theatre."\nThe relocated event 
 at the Lyric Theatre will feature performances by local Irish dance groups
 \, pipe bands\, and musical groups. An updated entertainment schedule will
  be released Friday and can be found at https://lexingtonstpatsparade.org
 /festival/ and on the event's Facebook page.\nThe celebration continues o
 n St. Patrick’s Day\, Monday\, March 17 with a performance by Scythian a
 t Transylvania University. Known for their energetic blend of Celtic\, Eas
 tern European and Appalachian music\, Scythian delivers a high-energy conc
 ert experience. The show begins at 7 p.m.\, and tickets are available for 
 $18 only at transy.edu/tickets.
