WHAT:           The 48th High Hope Steeplechase returns to the Kentucky Horse Park on Sunday, May 22, 2016.

The day’s activities will include a Ladies Side Saddle Parade and two Ladies Side Saddle Races, four steeplechase races over fences, children’s and adult stick horse races, a Parade of the Long Run Hounds, two Pony Races with jockeys ages 8-13 wearing the silks of local farm sponsors, a series of lure races for all breeds and sizes of dogs, face painting, children’s activities, a vendor area and much more.

Stick Horse Races – Registration opens at 11am!
Registration table is located in the Activities Area.
Advanced signup required. Entries taken until the start of the 3rd sanctioned race.

Preliminary races will take place in the Activities Area.
Final races will take place on the steeplechase course.

Children will ride in four age-divided heats:
4 year olds; 5-6 year olds; 7-8 year olds; and 9-10 year olds

Adult Stick Horse Races will run after the children’s final races are concluded.

Prizes will be awarded to the final heat winners for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.

the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation and Central Kentucky Riding for Hope.

Attending the High Hope Steeplechase has become an annual tradition for many families, groups and corporations. Has also become a Lexington tailgating favorite! There are several types of seating for options for the event.

  • Premium Tailgating $600
  • Preferred Tailgating $275-$300
  • Members’ Pavilion $125 per person, $200 per couple, or $1,000 for a table of ten
  • Lawn Box $125
  • General Admission $25 (GA Tickets can be purchased on Race Day at the Gate)
  • High Hope Picnic Basket $225
